Volleyball Recap: Sierra Vista Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Silverado

Sierra Vista faced Silverado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Sierra Vista blew past Silverado 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mountain Lions have posted against the Skyhawks since March 15, 2022.

Sierra Vista never let Silverado on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.

Regi Beshiri paced Sierra Vista's offense, picking up 18 kills. Beshiri got some help from Zaihen Arenas-Bailey and his 15 assists. Ayden Lara controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Sierra Vista's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-7. As for Silverado, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Sierra Vista will head out to take on Shadow Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shadow Ridge will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Sierra Vista surely won't give up without a fight. As for Silverado, they will face off against Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Silverado is facing Foothill at the right time seeing as Foothill is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
