Basketball Game Preview: Hudson Cobras vs. Gulf Buccaneers

Hudson is 1-9 against Gulf since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hudson Cobras will square off against the Gulf Buccaneers. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hudson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Nature Coast Tech, sneaking past 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cobras have posted since December 13, 2023.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gulf, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 54-1 win over Pasco. The Buccaneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Gulf is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Hudson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-14.

Hudson was dealt a bruising 53-17 loss at the hands of Gulf when the teams last played back in January. Can Hudson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
