Volleyball Recap: Chambers/Wheeler Central Comes Up Short

Chambers/Wheeler Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Wausa Vikings. The Renegades were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Chambers/Wheeler Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-17, 25-18, 27-25.

Their offense was headlined by Paige Schlenger and Savannah Hansen, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Braelynn Schlenger and her 12 assists. Rose Woeppel controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Chambers/Wheeler Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Wausa, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Looking ahead, Chambers/Wheeler Central will venture away from home to challenge Burwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wausa, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Hartington-Newcastle on the 11th.
