Basketball Game Preview: Walker Wolverines vs. Calvary Day Cavaliers

The Walker Wolverines will face off against the Calvary Day Cavaliers at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. One thing working in Walker's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Walker is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Atlanta International: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wolverines blew the Eagles out of the water with a 108-45 final score. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Walker got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Devan Fernande out in front who shot 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Fernande continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Lorenzo McCorvey was another key player, shooting 88% from the field to rack up 17 points along with seven steals and five assists.

Walker was working as a unit and finished the game with 30 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2025.

Meanwhile, Calvary Day waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 57-47 win over the Cadets. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Cadets are ranked 476th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Calvary Day's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Walker, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.
