Basketball Recap: Richards Comes Up Short

Richards was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 76-67 to the Kennedy Crusaders. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Ja'Veon Sargent-Williams was his usual excellent self, going 13 of 24 en route to 33 points for Kennedy. Those 33 points gave Sargent-Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Dahl, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Richards' defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Kennedy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-14.

Richards does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kennedy, they will square off against Hancock at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
