Basketball Recap: Glynn Academy Comes Up Short

Glynn Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Statesboro Blue Devils 79-31. While losing is never fun, the Terrors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 78th).

Jarod Mincey was Glynn Academy's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Ahmad Mcintosh held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Statesboro can attribute much of their success to Dartavian (Dj) Brown, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points. That's the most points Brown has posted since back in November of 2024. Ja'Caiden Cone was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 12 points.

Glynn Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Statesboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Glynn Academy has already played their next matchup, a 67-61 loss against South Effingham on the 18th. As for Statesboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-50 victory against Brunswick on the 18th.
