Softball Recap: Highlands Golden Rams vs. Greensburg Salem Golden Lions

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Burrell, Highlands was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions 3-1.

Madison Gorney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She also tossed five walks, marking her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Gorney wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Chambers, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Chambers snagged this season.

Highlands now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Greensburg Salem, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
