Football Recap: Canyon Piles Up the Points Against Piedra Vista + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canyon). They blew past the Piedra Vista Panthers 49-7 on Friday. The Eagles pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers had little chance of recovering from.

Among those leading the charge was Bayler Schilling, who picked up 103 receiving yards and one score.

Canyon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 328 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Another reason for the win was Canyon's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Da'Keydrion Ford, Zacchaeus Garcia, and Caden Cavanaugh, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Canyon pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.7 points on average over those games. As for Piedra Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Canyon will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against West Plains at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Wolves' defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Piedra Vista, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-7 loss against Volcano Vista on the 2nd.
