Basketball Recap: Tri-City Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jeramiah Turner and David Turner

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Tri-City Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell to the Poly Parrots 60-54. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Tri-City Christian's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from David Turner and Jeramiah Turner. David went 7-for-11 to rack up 19 points, while Jeramiah shot 63% from the field on his way to 13 points. Those 19 points gave David a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Valverde, who posted four points and six rebounds.

JD Wyatt was his usual excellent self, putting up 28 points for Poly. Wyatt's big performance that evening made it 39 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Quian Khawaja was another key player, posting 14 points.

Tri-City Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Poly, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 24-9 record this season.

Tri-City Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Poly, they will face off against Bernstein at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bernstein comes in on 17 and Poly on 16.
