It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Western Boone had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the North Putnam Cougars 56-27. Considering the Stars have won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

A big part of Western Boone's win came down to the chemistry between Brandon Potter and his top target Marcus Fortner. Potter rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries while Fortner gained 115 total yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Potter has posted since back in September.

Western Boone was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 352 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, North Putnam still got an impressive performance from Christian Kramer, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 240 yards and a touchdown. Kramer has been hot , having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played.

Western Boone's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for North Putnam, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Western Boone will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Lafayette Central Catholic will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Western Boone surely won't give up without a fight. North Putnam does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
