After losing to Riverdale the last time they met, Elmwood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Royals were the clear victors by a 19-9 margin over the Falcons on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kason Hammer was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Zackery Gross was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Elmwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Elmwood, bringing their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Riverdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmwood will square off against Huron at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverdale, they will take on Cory-Rawson at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
