Faith Christian comes up short despite Dylan Martinez's dominant performance

Recap: Faith Christian Saints vs. School of the Woods Wildcats
On Friday, Faith Christian ended up a good deal behind School of the Woods and lost 61-47.
When it comes to explaining why Faith Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dylan Martinez. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That was a full 48.9% of Faith Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Avila, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for School of the Woods, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. School of the Woods won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Humble Christian at 6:15 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Humble Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.
