Basketball Recap: Struthers Takes a Loss

Struthers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the McKinley Red Dragons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-45 back in January.

Avon Fryer was a one-man wrecking crew for McKinley as he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Fryer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was True Carey-Hardin, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Struthers' defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for McKinley, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11.

Struthers will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McKinley, they will venture away from home to square off against South Range at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in South Range's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while McKinley has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
