Softball Recap: Teutopolis Gets the Win

Teutopolis came out on top against St. Anthony on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Wooden Shoes took their game against the Bulldogs 8-5. For the Wooden Shoes, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Kera Hartke was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Jersey Gaddis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

The win got Teutopolis back to even at 8-8. As for St. Anthony, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.

Coming up, Teutopolis will challenge Shelbyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wooden Shoes are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for St. Anthony, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paris at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
