Soccer Game Preview: Dickson County vs. Henry County

The Dickson County Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Henry County Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Henry County heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Dickson County took over last week. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against West Creek on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. Gavin Wright had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Dickson County.

Meanwhile, Henry County came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Vikings. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Henry County's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Northwest are ranked 232nd).

Dickson County's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Henry County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Dickson County came out on top in a nail-biter against Henry County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
