Recap: Robbinsville Black Knights vs. Thomas Jefferson Gryphons
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Robbinsville Black Knights walked away with it. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-7 victory over Thomas Jefferson. The win was familiar territory for Robbinsville who now have six in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Cuttler Adams, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Adams' longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Adams, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Robbinsville's victory was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.8 points per game. As for Thomas Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Robbinsville will play host again and welcome Mountain Island Charter, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Island Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Robbinsville is ranked 64th). Thomas Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
