Football Recap: Cardinal Gibbons' Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games + How To Watch

If Cardinal Gibbons was riding high fresh off their 52-6 takedown of South Broward on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chiefs took a 49-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Broward Bobcats on Monday. The Chiefs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Loss or not, Cardinal Gibbons got some senior leadership from Jayden Torres and Merrick Todich. Torres threw for 394 yards and four TDs, while Todich picked up 152 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 394 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Torres. A healthy portion of Torres' aerial production (114 yards to be exact) also went to Gary Hadley Jr..

West Broward's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daquan Adderley led the charge by rushing for 141 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Amos Bradford also helped out as he racked up 173 rushing yards.

The defeat snapped Cardinal Gibbons' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record. As for West Broward, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Cardinal Gibbons will take on Hallandale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Chiefs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for West Broward, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Miami Beach at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
