Basketball Game Preview: Hendrick Hudson Sailors vs. Washingtonville Wizards

The Hendrick Hudson Sailors and the Washingtonville Wizards will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Hendrick Hudson and three for Washingtonville.

Last Friday, Hendrick Hudson came up short against Rye and fell 65-54.

Despite the defeat, Hendrick Hudson got top-tier performance from Kaitlyn Raguso, who dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 12 boards, and ten steals. With that strong performance, Raguso is now averaging an impressive 16.8 points per game. Elyse Smith was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points.

Even though they lost, Hendrick Hudson was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-31, which was the final score in Washingtonville's tilt against Monroe-Woodbury on Friday.

Washingtonville's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hendrick Hudson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
