Baseball Recap: Omaha Central Takes a Loss

If Omaha Central was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of South Sioux City on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Bellevue East Chieftains by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chieftains apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Joe Sullivan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Omaha Central: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ferguson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Omaha Central's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Bellevue East, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-19.
