Volleyball Recap: Southwick Regional Takes a Loss

Southwick Regional lost against Springfield Renaissance on September 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rams came up short against Springfield Renaissance, falling 3-0. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southwick Regional took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Gabriela Victor and Kaileigh Savva, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Sophia Viktorchuk and her eight assists. Finally, Victor was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Southwick Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Springfield Renaissance, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Southwick Regional will head out on the road to take on Pioneer Valley Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Springfield Renaissance, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Baystate Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
