Softball Recap: Orange Panthers vs. Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves

Orange had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 10-9 to make it five. They fell just short of the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves by a score of 15-14. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Fighting Red Wolves this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-4 defeat two weeks ago.

Katie Carden made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Cecil, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

As for Cedar Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.

On Cedar Ridge's side, Rylee Capps was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI Capps has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brittani Goddard, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

As of now, neither Orange nor Cedar Ridge have any future games scheduled.
