Basketball Recap: Michael Barna's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pineapple Cove Classical Academy over Babcock

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy lost against Babcock back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Babcock Trailblazers.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Barna, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Barna is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Garcia, who posted 14 points and five rebounds.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Babcock, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-9.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy has already played their next game (against Melbourne Central Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Babcock won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Berean Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
