Basketball Game Preview: Community Christian Cyclones vs. Bethel Christian Academy Trojans

The Community Christian Cyclones will challenge the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Community Christian has three straight wins, Bethel Christian Academy has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Community Christian barely beat Sallie B. Howard the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cyclones blew past the Eagles 72-43 on Tuesday. The Cyclones have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Evan Gattis was his usual excellent self, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 20 points along with five assists and five steals. The game was his third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Allegood, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Community Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Bethel Christian Academy suffered their closest loss since January 27th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Jones by a score of 65-63.

Community Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bethel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Community Christian against Bethel Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-22 win.
