Baseball Recap: West Sabine Has No Trouble Against Corrigan-Camden

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brookeland, West Sabine was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs 11-3.

Cayson McBride and Laken Quick were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, McBride tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Quick struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. That's the fewest hits McBride has allowed since back in April of 2024. At bat, McBride went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs, while Quick scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs McBride has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kade Myrann, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ryan Estes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

West Sabine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got West Sabine back to even at 7-7. As for Corrigan-Camden, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, West Sabine and Corrigan-Camden will both be playing Groveton the next time they take the field. West Sabine will head out to face Groveton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Corrigan-Camden will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
