Softball Recap: Chilhowie Triumphs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chilhowie). They skirted past the Greeneville Greene Devils 9-8. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Lexi Williams, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chilhowie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeneville only managed six.

Chilhowie now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Greeneville, they dropped their record down to 5-10-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Chilhowie is taking a road trip to take on Grayson County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greeneville, they have already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Clinton on the 28th.
