Baseball Recap: Gardner Takes a Loss

Gardner came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Maynard Tigers, falling 13-2. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Gardner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Maynard, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gardner will face off against Ayer Shirley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maynard, they will challenge Narragansett Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.2 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
