Basketball Recap: Columbia Adventist Academy Takes a Loss

Columbia Adventist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 45-27 bruising from the Willapa Valley Vikings. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kodiaks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-21 back in December of 2024.

Willapa Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tylar Keeton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Rilyn Channell, who posted four points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

Columbia Adventist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Willapa Valley, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Adventist Academy will challenge Washington School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Willapa Valley, they will take on Mary M. Knight at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willapa Valley will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
