Softball Recap: Gibraltar Takes a Loss

Gibraltar is still winless after their game against Hilbert on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 27, 2024.

Emilie Glocke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Gibraltar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Gallant, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Olivia Pelkey also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Gibraltar's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hilbert, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gibraltar will take on Sheboygan Area Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilbert, they will welcome Oostburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
