Football Recap: San Angelo Central Piles Up the Points Against Waco

It was a proper cat-fight when San Angelo Central took on Waco on Friday. The Bobcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 48-6. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Bobcats this season.

San Angelo Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micah Smith, who threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns. Zeyvion Johnson helped Smith out on the ground, rushing for 95 yards and a pair of TDs.

When it comes to explaining why Waco lost, don't look at ZAY'DRIAN JOHNSON. Despite the final result, he picked up 148 receiving yards and one score.

The victory was the third in a row for San Angelo Central, bringing their record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.7 points over those games. As for Waco, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

San Angelo Central and Waco will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Bobcats see the field they'll take on Midland Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Waco, their break will end when they face Brenham at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
