Basketball Game Preview: St. Charles Cardinals vs. Watkins Memorial Warriors

St. Charles is 4-0 against Watkins Memorial since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The St. Charles Cardinals will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Watkins Memorial Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It was a proper cat-fight when St. Charles took on Hilliard Darby on Friday. St. Charles fell to Hilliard Darby 46-40.

Meanwhile, Watkins Memorial came up short against Jackson on Saturday and fell 54-45. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Ironman/Ironladies are ranked 113th).

St. Charles has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Watkins Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

St. Charles strolled past Watkins Memorial in their previous matchup back in November of 2019 by a score of 68-54. Will St. Charles repeat their success, or does Watkins Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
