Sickles posted their closest victory since September 9, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past the Robinson Knights 3-2. The Gryphons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Sickles had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 22-25, 25-14, 25-21, 15-11.

Sickles was led to victory by Gabbi Colmenares-Salas and Ava Montagna. Colmenares-Salas had 21 digs and two aces, while Montagna had nine digs and two aces. Colmenares-Salas is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good server: Sickles was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Sickles now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Robinson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
