Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. King's Way Christian Knights

The Mountain View Thunder will face off against the King's Way Christian Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Mountain View sitting on three straight victories and King's Way Christian on five.

While Mountain View's win against Heritage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunder skirted past the Timberwolves 5-3.

Caleb Long looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Legend Haskew was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Brendon Lawson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, King's Way Christian posted their closest victory since March 22, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Castle Rock 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Knights have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Noah Myers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

King's Way Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
