Softball Recap: Union Pines Vikings vs. South Central Falcons        
        
		
            
 Union Pines lost against South Central last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Thursday. The Union Pines Vikings might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  8-7 to the South Central Falcons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Union Pines has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Kaitlyn Blue spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and five unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  Elizabeth Andrews and  Natalie Auman did some serious damage despite the final result:  Andrews  went 3-for-4 with a  home run and two  RBI, while  Auman  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Auman is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Adelette Gutierrez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 On South Central's side, they also let their pitcher toss all eight innings and she was also dialed-in:  Ava Coward gave up four earned  (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Blaire Adee, who  fired off two  home runs and five  RBI while going 2-for-3.  Haven Roebuck was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Union Pines' loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 17-9. As for South Central, the  victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-5.
 Union Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Central, they will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Dixon. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (South Central: 3, Dixon: 3.1) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
