Baseball Game Preview: Montgomery Cougars vs. Hillsborough Raiders

The Montgomery Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Hillsborough Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Montgomery will be strutting in after a victory while Hillsborough will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Montgomery turned things around against Manville on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Mustangs. The contest marked the Cougars' most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Hillsborough scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of The Pingry School by a score of 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since April 15th.

Alex Reiling was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Apoorva Nigam was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Hillsborough has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.
