Baseball Game Preview: Victoria West Warriors vs. Victoria East Titans

For the second straight game, Victoria West will face off against Victoria East. Victoria West and Victoria East will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Victoria West 3.8, Victoria East 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Victoria West's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Victoria East hitters got past them. Victoria West fell 12-7 to Victoria East on Tuesday. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Evan Waters made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dominick Martinez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Victoria East, bringing their record up to 18-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Victoria West, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-5-2.
