The biggest upset of the week belonged to Jasper, who took down 276th ranked Diamond, 40-22. Logan Johnston threw for 11 yards and ran for 111 yards in the win.
Miller extended the longest winning streak in Spring River Valley this week by beating Sarcoxie, 33-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Cardinals.
Brodie Bien provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Wildcats lost to the Eagles. He completed 10 passes for 169 yards and also ran for 18 yards. Bien's favorite target this week was Jake Goad, who caught two passes for 66 yards.
Zach Renfro was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 172 yards as Diamond lost to Jasper.
Hunter Montez put up the best numbers through the air as Greenfield fell to McAuley Catholic. He finished with five completions for 78 yards and one touchdown. Montez's favorite target this week was Kelby Davis, who caught three passes for 61 yards.
Miller's Dalton Gulick and Derrick Estell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gulick has thrown for 1487 yards this season, while Estell, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 23 catches for 393 yards. Pierce City's Cedric O'Hara leads the league in rushing yards with 1293.
Dustin Baldwin 's team's Gulick needs only 80 yards against Liberal next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Gulick has rushed for 920 yards on 112 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in Spring River Valley this week will be when the Bears take on Jimmy Dushane's team. Sarcoxie is currently in second, while the Wildcats are in fifth.
