Basketball Game Preview: Albemarle Patriots vs. Goochland Bulldogs

Albemarle is a perfect 5-0 against Goochland since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Albemarle Patriots will host the Goochland Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Albemarle ended up a good deal behind Charlottesville and lost 58-40. The Patriots have struggled against the Black Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Goochland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They took a blow against Louisa County, falling 67-18. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Lions are ranked 194th).

Albemarle's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Goochland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Everything came up roses for Albemarle against Goochland in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 62-10 win. Does Albemarle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Goochland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
