Softball Game Preview: Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles vs. Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints

The Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ezell-Harding Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Mount Juliet Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Ezell-Harding Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clarksville Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Ezell-Harding Christian put the hurt on Clarksville Academy with a sharp 12-2 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Kaylah Boldin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off four doubles, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-5. Those runs were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Lillian Spears was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. Another player making a difference was Lynae Lawrence, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Ezell-Harding Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mount Juliet Christian Academy's offense. They lost 21-0 to Donelson Christian Academy on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Ezell-Harding Christian's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Mount Juliet Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Ezell-Harding Christian couldn't quite finish off Mount Juliet Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 11-9. Can Ezell-Harding Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
