Baseball Recap: Andover Has No Trouble Against Coon Rapids

Andover got themselves on the board against Coon Rapids on Tuesday, but Coon Rapids never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Cardinals. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Brett Buettner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Andover got a big performance out of Keaton Coe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Coe has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Danny Scheller, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple.

Andover's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Coon Rapids, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andover will head out to challenge Spring Lake Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coon Rapids, they will venture away from home to take on Washburn at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
