Volleyball Recap: Halifax Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Halifax Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Statesville Christian Lions by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Halifax Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Statesville Christian work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 25-15, 16-25, 26-28, 15-13.

Despite the defeat, Halifax Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emma Inscoe had 31 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Inscoe is now averaging an impressive 10.4 digs per game.

Statesville Christian found their leader in sophomore Abbey Wright, who had 24 digs and three aces. Wright is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Halifax Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Statesville Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.

Halifax Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Statesville Christian, they will face off against Lawrence Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
