Basketball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Bingham Miners

The Viewmont Vikings will challenge the Bingham Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Viewmont came up short against Farmington and fell 48-35.

Loss or not, Viewmont got some senior leadership from Annie Layton and Peyton Burningham. Layton posted 13 points and five steals, while Burningham had nine points and five rebounds. Layton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kailey Selleneit, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, Bingham played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 65-45 to Pleasant Grove. The Miners were down 49-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Viewmont will have to contain Evalyn Roberts as she made an impact in Bingham's last game. She put up 11 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Stacia Peoples, who scored six points.

Viewmont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bingham, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
