Softball Recap: Alliance Gets the Win

Alliance won the last time they faced Carrollton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Aviators came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aviators.

Lilly White was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

In other batting news, Alliance let Tasia Hendershot and Aubrie Lunsford run wild. Hendershot went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Lunsford went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Lunsford a new career-high.

Alliance's record is now 10-11. As for Carrollton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alliance will challenge Marlington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Aviators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dukes have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Carrollton, they will face off against Minerva at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Lions have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
