Baseball Recap: Hamilton Heights Comes Up Short

Hamilton Heights had lost seven straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 6-12 to make it eight. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shelbyville Golden Bears. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 10-9 to the Golden Bears when the teams met back in May of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Shelbyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.

For Shelbyville's part, the team relied heavily on Gavyn Fisher, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hamilton Heights has already played their next contest, a 12-4 defeat against Hamilton Southeastern on the 10th. As for Shelbyville, they will venture away from home to challenge Hauser at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Golden Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
