Recap: Beaumont Cougars vs. Cajon Cowboys
The Beaumont Cougars won the last time they faced the Cajon Cowboys, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Beaumont strolled past Cajon with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. Given Beaumont's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Cajon is ranked 628th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beaumont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vince tracy Capuras led the charge by scoring 21 points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Adrian Farias, who scored 19 points.
Beaumont has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Cajon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
Beaumont will head out on the road to challenge Yucaipa at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Yucaipa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cajon, they will be playing at home against Redlands East Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Redlands East Valley will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
