Softball Recap: Weiser Has No Trouble Against New Plymouth

Weiser won the last time they faced New Plymouth and things went their way on Saturday too. Weiser was the clear victor by a 16-9 margin over New Plymouth.

Madi Janicek made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Weiser got a massive performance out of Jessica Waite, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Waite has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie Shirts, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Weiser hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Plymouth struck out 13 times.

The victory got Weiser back to even at 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Weiser beat New Plymouth by a score of 14-0 later that day.
