Preview: Cohasset Skippers vs. Randolph Blue Devils
The Cohasset Skippers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Randolph Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Cohasset got themselves on the board against Mashpee, but Mashpee never followed suit. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Falcons. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Cohasset just coasted through the last quarter.
Liam Appleton got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Michael Wildfire, who threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Randolph earned a 35-26 victory over Brighton/Kennedy Health Careers on Friday.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-3.
Cohasset didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Randolph in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 28-24 win.
