Recap: Northwest Texans vs. Saginaw Rough Riders
The Northwest Texans posted their closest win yet this season on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-43 win over Saginaw. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Northwest.
Despite the defeat, Saginaw had strong showings from Amaya McGrew, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Tatum Stone, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Cyenna Thompson, who scored four points.
Northwest pushed their record up to 7-19 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Saginaw, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Aledo the next time they take the court. Northwest will head out to face Aledo at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Saginaw will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
