Volleyball Game Preview: East Central Hornets vs. Purvis Tornadoes

The East Central Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Purvis Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

East Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against South Jones as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Purvis, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Brookhaven with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Purvis took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-8, 25-8.

The victory got East Central back to even at 19-19. As for Purvis, their win bumped their record up to 31-6.

East Central couldn't quite get it done against Purvis in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
