Basketball Game Preview: Stafford Indians vs. Riverbend Bears + Official Tickets

Stafford hasn't had much luck against Riverbend recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Bears at 6:30 p.m. Riverbend took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Stafford, who comes in off a win.

Stafford is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Alexandria City: they outscored them in every quarter. The Indians were the clear victors by a 59-33 margin over the Titans on Wednesday. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stafford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sanaa Jenkins, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 19 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Jenkins a new career-high in steals (eight). Another player making a difference was Blair Hill, who posted 12 points along with seven steals and six boards.

Meanwhile, Riverbend came up short against James Monroe on Thursday and fell 61-53.

The win made it two in a row for Stafford and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for Riverbend, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
