Baseball Recap: Crittenden County's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Crittenden County came out on top against Mayfield on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Rockets took their game against the Cardinals 8-4. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 win the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Quinn Summers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Cameron Nesbitt also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Crittenden County's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13. As for Mayfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crittenden County will venture away from home to take on Heritage Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Mayfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Christian Fellowship at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
